About Us

The Environment

Being green is not new for the Fleming family, and as soon as becoming involved with the Cataline, 15+ years ago, our beliefs were put into place. Wherever possible we Reduce our use of water and electricity, Reuse items if practical, have a total Recycle program, plus compost. Although on a community potable water system, we are glad our rural area still has septic fields, so effluent is not sent into rivers – the Bulkley and Skeena are about the cleanest in BC.

No English? (Usually not a problem)

With a word or two, a dictionary, or pictures, we can assist most visitors. And, using a number of ideas the owner gained from traveling to many countries on a budget, have provided ways to save (see rates) without a loss of comfort.

We believe all should visit this area

We have found, people who stop in “The Hazeltons” area are glad they did, even if only for a few hours. Take a look at our page “Things to do“, and if enticed to plan a longer stay, take advantage of our facilities and hospitality; we will be pleased to provide directions to necessities that may be needed (laundry, food, vehicle, health, etc; and at the motel have binders with local information to help with most any inquiry) – all are within 5 and 11 km from the Cataline. Be sure to obtain a quote if you decide an overnight stay will not be sufficient – discounts are usually available.
